The Role

Make things happen. Keep the business moving.

Niel N Ray Group is hiring a hands-on Business Operations Executive to work directly with CA Sanjay Ray Chowdhury and keep day-to-day work moving.

The role combines operational support for our Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd (MOFSL) Authorised Person (AP) business with recruitment, employee administration, payroll processing support, office management and vendor coordination.

You will take responsibility for routine execution, maintain accurate records and close follow-ups. A key responsibility is maintaining continuity of non-terminal AP operations when the MOFSL-provided FOCO operations executive is on leave or absent.

This is a hands-on individual-contributor role. Selection will assess ownership, accuracy, prioritisation and follow-through through discussion and a short practical exercise using fictional information.

Your Responsibilities

What You Will Do

  • 01

    Keep Priorities Moving

Track important tasks, deadlines, commitments and follow-ups across routine business priorities. Coordinate with the relevant people, identify delays early and bring clear next steps to the founder.

  • 02

    Coordinate Recruitment and Onboarding

Support approved job postings, recruitment-agency coordination, initial screening against agreed criteria, interview scheduling and candidate follow-ups. Coordinate joining documents, induction, equipment readiness and onboarding checklists. Maintain authorised employee, attendance and leave records, and support exit formalities.

  • 03

    Run Day-to-Day Office Operations

Keep the office ready for daily work: workstations, laptops, office equipment, supplies, maintenance, housekeeping coordination, couriers and routine local visits. Coordinate equipment and support requests with the designated technology owner. Google Workspace administration and system configuration are outside this role.

  • 04

    Coordinate Vendors and Purchases

Identify vendors, obtain quotations, compare options, negotiate within approved authority and follow through on purchases and services. Check invoices and maintain organised vendor, asset, purchase and expense records.

  • 05

Coordinate MOFSL AP Operations and Continuity

Coordinate MOFSL AP demat and trading account-opening documentation, KYC requirements, account modifications and routine service requests. Check document completeness, follow up with clients and MOFSL, maintain case records, and arrange formal verification and approval through authorised MOFSL personnel. Work alongside the MOFSL-provided FOCO executive, maintain a shared pending-work tracker and documented handovers, and keep non-terminal operations moving during leave or absence. Escalate broker-dependent work through the agreed MOFSL contact. This role excludes trading-terminal operation, order placement and trade execution.

  • 06

    Support Events and Business Projects

Coordinate client meetings, seminars, events and employee activities, including venues, vendors, schedules, materials, logistics and follow-ups. Improve checklists and routine processes, and support operational projects as the business grows.

  • 07

    Support Payroll and Maintain Records

Prepare and check monthly payroll inputs and salary workings using approved salary terms, attendance, leave, reimbursements and applicable additions or deductions. Resolve discrepancies with the founder or designated adviser. Support authorised payroll processing, payslip distribution and recordkeeping, and track completion. Salary changes, final payroll approval and payment release remain with the authorised approver. Keep personnel and operational records confidential and organised.

Candidate Profile

What You Will Bring

  • 5–8 Years of Professional Experience: Experience in business operations, office administration, founder or executive support, or financial-services operations. Broking, AP office, banking, NBFC or other financial-services experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ownership Mindset: You take responsibility, follow through and do not wait to be reminded repeatedly.
  • Practical Working Style: Practical ability to coordinate recruitment and onboarding, maintain employee records and prepare accurate payroll workings, alongside client-document follow-ups and everyday office tasks.
  • Organisation and Follow-Through: You can manage several priorities without losing track of deadlines, documents or commitments.
  • Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in English and Hindi is mandatory. Marathi will be an advantage.
  • Technology Comfort: Confident using email, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, job portals and online business tools. Willing to learn new systems quickly.
  • Communication and Judgement: Able to communicate professionally with candidates, employees, clients, bankers and vendors while handling confidential information responsibly.
  • Local Mobility: Comfort working in-office in Khar West and undertaking occasional local operational visits to banks, vendors and other business contacts.
